NYC Dads Support #GivingTuesday, Baby Buggy

NYC Dads Group helped parents in need receive clothing for their children by participating in #GivingTuesday, a global day dedicated to giving back to others.

A team of our dads spent the evening of December 2 sorting, screening and bundling children’s clothing donated through Baby Buggy, a nonprofit group that assists thousands of families across the country.

baby buggy pile of clothes — Individuals, families, and large companies donate thousands of items of clothing and toys to Baby Buggy each year. This is the pile we started with– a random assortment of clothes intended for newborn through teenage girls.

Special thanks to:

City Births, an educational space for new and expectant parents (including our new dad bootcamp workshop), for donating their space.

Baby Buggy for sending our fearless volunteer coordinators, Melissa and Jamie.

By the end of the evening, we had sorted, screened, and bundled clothes for over 100 girls. Not a bad night’s work!

#GivingTuesday was founded in 2012 by New York’s 92nd Street Y (another NYC Dads Group partner over the years) in partnership with the United Nations Foundation. The effort has engaged more than 10,000 organizations worldwide.
